On repeat.
How many times do you find yourself in the same situation, just differences faces and different spaces?
If your answer is more than 3 times, you might want to consider what the shared feature of each situation is.
Yes, that is you.
So once we figure out that we might be doing something unconsciously to trigger the same pattern over and over again, then what do we do? Well, we take a breath and do the opposite next time. That means, that when we are about to react in a similar fashion, and we have this sense of déjà vu - we wait.
Just long enough to consider how else we could react.
How did we react last time and how did that work out? And then we do the opposite.
And surprise: the opposite result happens.
That is how easy it is to change our repeating patterns and past traumas into new ways of functioning in life.
We train ourselves to react opposite compared to how we used to react in our dysfunctional life.
Now admittedly this is a whole lot easier to practice in real life, if we have already trained ourselves in being able to stop in the moment and just be with silence, feelings of discomfort etc. This is basically what yoga and meditation trains us to be capable of.
Rather than reacting in the moment, we slowly become able to step out, observe and make another choice as how to react.
This is pretty smart, because now we can mold our destiny, rather than be a victim to "circumstances" and our own chosen limitations. Because very few actual limitations exist outside of our mind. There is always a way.
